UK’s Sony Music Publishing has expanded the global Deal with James Bond Theme Song Lyricist, and the Hall of Fame, Oscar-winning songwriter Don Black.
Don Black’s lyrics and songs have been published across various television series, films, broadway shows, and popular music series. Some of his most significant works include the theme songs of James Bond, The Man With The Golden Gun, The World is Not Enough, Thunderball, Diamonds Are Forever, Surrender from Tomorrow, and Thunderball.
Don Black is also famous for writing numerous hits such as Born Free, Ben by Michael Jackson, Lulu’s To Sir With Love. Some of the many musicals he wrote included Tell Me On A Sunday and Sunset Boulevard with Andrew Lloyd Webber. Along with having a successful career for the past six decades, Don Black has written for and worked with various top composers such as Jule Styne, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Quincy Jones, John Barry, Elmer Bernstein, and Henry Mancini.
The impeccable and extremely talented lyricist Don Black has also penned songs for notable motion pictures such as Dances With Wolves, The Pink Panther Strikes Again, The Italian Job, Out of Africa, and Dances With Wolves. Don Black has also earned numerous top awards and recognitions for his contributions to the music industry. Some of his noteworthy accomplishments include an Oscar for Born Free, his induction into the infamous Hall of Fame for Songwriters, two Tony Awards, five Academy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, six Ivor Novello Awards, and he was recently awarded the Olivier Award by the Duchess of Cornwall.
Don Black is currently in the works of producing several of his projects which are planned to be released in the near future, according to Sony Music Publishing. The Oscar-winning lyricist is currently writing songs with Van Morrison in collaboration with various brand new musicals. The audience will also soon be able to read his autobiography “The Sanest Guy in the Room” which was released in 2020. The Hall-of-fame lyricist also has his own show on Sunday nights on BBC Radio Two.
